Bio 105 - General Biology I [Lecture]

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

3 lecture hours + 3 lab hours  *  4 credits/semester

Bio 105 is prerequisite for Bio 106.

An extensive survey of biological principles from a biochemical and evolutionary viewpoint. Plant and animal groups are studied for a general knowledge. Varied life forms and topics such as cellular biology, genetics, metabolism, reproduction and responsiveness are stressed.

COURSE GRADE:

Six unit exams will be given during the semester. The tentative scheduled dates appear on the schedule of topics. The average of all exams and quizzes will constitute the final course grade. No exam grade will be dropped, nor will a project or paper be used as a substitute.  Lecture = 3/4 and Lab = 1/4 of the course average score.
